Easy wellness activities don’t have to be time-consuming.
They don’t have to be complicated either. Whether you’re a busy mom trying to manage competing priorities or are just looking for simple ways to find calm in the chaos, prioritizing your health will have a huge impact on your energy, mood, and overall well-being. In this post, I’m going to share five quick and easy wellness activities that can seamlessly fit into your daily routine. The best part? They don’t require a gym membership, fancy equipment, or hours of free time—just a few mindful choices that add up to big results. Ready to feel your best?

1. Hydrate first.
I keep a filled water bottle on my nightstand so I can take a few sips of water as one of my morning routine habits. A whole glass of water would be even better. Drinking water as soon as you wake up will rehydrate your body after a full night’s sleep. It will also kickstart your metabolism and help you wake up. If you don’t enjoy plain water, you can add some lemon or cucumber for a refreshing taste.
2. Move.
Incorporate some more movement into your day. You definitely don’t need to do an hour-long workout or strain your body. A short walk, stretching routine, or bodyweight exercises can be done in just 5-10 minutes while you’re waiting for your coffee to brew. Physical activity has a multitude of benefits, such as boosting your mood, making you stronger, and increasing your energy levels. Quick workouts for busy moms are easy wellness activities to sprinkle into your day when you get a few minutes to yourself. My favorite is the short bodyweight workout. You can also use dumbbells for an extra challenge!
3. Eat whole foods.
When you’re hungry and bouncing from school pick-up to your child’s softball game, I know it’s easiest to just grab whatever quick snack you have lying around. You can still eat healthy and nutritious foods on-the-go, but swap out your processed snacks (anything in a bag or box!) for whole foods such as:
- Fresh fruit
- Raw vegetables
- Nuts
- Hard-boiled eggs
- Cottage cheese
- Yogurt
- Canned tuna
- Trail mix
- Dark chocolate
This small upgrades to your meals can make a big difference over time!
4. Get outside.
Sun exposure is the ideal way to ensure that you have healthy Vitamin D levels. Vitamin D from the sun is manufactured and stored longer in the body than Vitamin D obtained from diet and supplements. It’s a crucial vitamin for the body as it supports the immune system, builds bones, and keeps muscles and brain cells working. Ten minutes of sunlight can also greatly improve your mood. Pair your outdoor time with a walk for even more benefits!
5. Breathe.
Get into the habit of taking deep breaths throughout your day, especially when you’re in the midst of a stressful moment. I also love the 4-7-8 breathing technique. The technique involves breathing in for 4 seconds, holding your breath for 7 seconds, and exhaling for 8 seconds. Breathing intentionally will reduce stress, reset your focus, and also help you get to sleep.
