Between the school drop-offs, snacks, diaper changes, and the never-ending to-do list, I struggled to find a moment for myself—let alone a consistent workout routine. I needed something that fit my schedule, didn’t involve leaving the house, and gave me a boost of energy (and sanity) in the middle of motherhood chaos.

I discovered the Peloton Bike+ a few months after I gave birth to my now 4 year old. And honestly? It’s become one of the best investments I’ve made in my health, happiness, and mental clarity as a mom.

In this post, I’ll share how the Bike+ works for my real, messy, busy life. I’ll also discuss the pros, cons, and whether I think it’s truly worth it for moms like you.

Why I Chose the Peloton Bike Plus

It was October of 2021. The covid pandemic was still a big concern, and I had a 3 year old and 5 month old. I wanted to lose the baby weight and feel more like myself again. However, I was also drowning in diapers, bottles, laundry, and child rearing. I didn’t have the energy to leave the house to go on a run, or even to a yoga class, which are some exercise options that I tried in the past.

I really wanted something convenient, that I could do in my own home. That’s how my husband and I landed on the Peloton Bike Plus. We loved that it was convenient. We just needed to clear out a corner of our basement to make room for the bike. It also gave us flexible options for workouts – such a variety of bike classes as well as strength and yoga classes too. I’m someone who gets bored doing the same type of workout all the time. Therefore, Peloton’s class variety was a huge plus for me. A Peloton Bike Plus is a big financial investment that we did take some time to think about. We decided that the pros outweighed the cost, which I will dig into deeper later on in this Peloton Bike Plus review.

Peloton bike Plus Features Moms Will love

So what makes the Peloton Bike Plus stand out—especially for moms? It’s not just the hype. The Bike+ has several thoughtful features that actually make working out easier, more efficient, and even enjoyable when your time (and patience) is limited. Here are the features I’ve come to love while writing this Peloton Bike Plus review:

  • Rotating screen – only available with the Bike+! You can rotate the touchscreen to the left or right up to 360 degrees. This makes it easier to take bike bootcamp classes or a quick strength or stretching class after a ride.
  • Auto-resistance – another feature only available with the Bike+! If you prefer to just ride and not worry about changing the resistance as you go, turn the auto-resistance feature on! The bike will automatically adjust the resistance to match the instructor’s cues.
  • Apple watch integration – You can easily connect your Apple Watch to your Peloton if you like having all of your health metrics stored in one place.
  • Sleek design fits in small spaces – The Peloton Bike Plus’ base takes up 4 feet by 2 feet but Peloton recommends having an additional 2 feet of clearance on all sides of the bike. We have ours set up in a corner of our basement.
  • On-demand vs. live classes – I need a good playlist to work out so I take most of my rides on-demand so I can review the playlist first. It’s also nice to just take a class whenever I want. If you prefer the live excitement, Peloton offers many live classes throughout the day that you can choose from. Maybe you’ll get a shout-out!
  • Quick-start setup – The bike saves your log-in information so each time you want to ride you just have to choose your profile and then pick a workout!

How I Make Time for Fitness as a Busy Mom

Finding time to work out as a mom is no small feat. Some days, just making it through without reheating your coffee four times feels like a win. But one of the biggest reasons I wanted to write this Peloton Bike Plus review is because the Bike+ actually fits into my unpredictable, real-life mom schedule. Here’s how I carve out time for fitness.

For the most part, I prefer to work out before my girls get up. It’s much easier for me to stick to a routine that way. I also find that I have more energy to make it through the day if I start with a workout. I tend to stick to a 30-minute workout – whether it’s a ride on the bike or a strength workout on the mat. However, if I don’t get enough sleep or one of my girls wakes up super early, I’ll do a shorter workout (like 10 or 15 minutes long) after my girls head off for school. Peloton offers classes as short as 5 minutes, so there are many quick workouts for busy moms to choose from.

Best Peloton Classes for Busy Moms

One of the best things about the Peloton Bike+ is the incredible variety of classes available—especially when your time is limited. As a busy mom, I’ve found certain Peloton instructors and class formats that truly make the most of short windows between naps, school pick-ups, or bedtime. If you’re wondering which workouts are actually realistic for mom life, these are my go-to Peloton classes that deliver big results in less time.

Bike Bootcamp Classes

Bike bootcamps give you the biggest bang for your buck since they are a mix of cardio on the bike and strength on the mat. Some of my favorite bike bootcamp classes are:

Cycling Classes

Any 20-30 minute ride in a music genre that you love will pass by so quickly! Some of my favorite bike classes that I’ve done recently that really flew by are:

I also really enjoy Callie Gullickson’s strength classes. She has classes that range from 5-30 minutes that will target your core, glutes and legs, upper body, and full body. Some of my favorite recent classes of hers are:

  • 20 minute Soundtrack Strength Club from 3/21/25 (you really can’t go wrong with any of Callie’s Soundtrack Strength Club classes but this one happened to be to the soundtrack of one my favorite movies, Clueless)

In case you haven’t figured it out from my class recommendations, Callie Gullickson is one of my favorite Peloton instructors. She’s a mom of a toddler so I find her incredibly relatable. She makes her classes so fun and you really feel like you’re hanging out with one of your besties. I also really love Jenn Sherman. She’s a mom as well, but her children are older (in their 20s). She tells it like it is, but her music taste is very similar to mine. Some other instructors that I really enjoy for their motivational content as well as just being someone I’d love to hang out with in real life are Ally Love, Bradley Rose, and Leanne Hainsby.

How My Peloton Bike Plus Helped My Mental Health as a Mom

It turns out the benefits of the Peloton Bike Plus go far beyond physical fitness. As a mom, the mental load is constant—and carving out even 20 minutes for myself has made a huge difference in how I feel day to day. In this part of my Peloton Bike Plus review, I want to share how riding regularly has helped support my mental health, boost my mood, and give me a sense of control in the chaos of mom life.

When I first started using my Peloton Bike Plus, it helped me get some much-needed solo time to clear my mind. I would always be able to find a workout with music that I loved! Blasting those tunes really got my endorphins going, giving me an energy and mood boost.

Another way that my Peloton Bike Plus has helped my mental health is that it has boosted my confidence tremendously. I never really enjoyed working out, except for doing yoga. My Peloton Bike Plus has really changed exercising for me. There are days when I need an easy ride for sure, but I also love the rides that take me out of my comfort zone. Making it through a tough climb or interval gives me a confidence boost that I can take away from the bike too. The strength classes have also helped my confidence as well. Lifting weights helps me feel stronger and more capable in my workout and in life in general.

Finally, a Peloton comes with a positive uplifting community. The motivational instructors as well as fellow members sending high fives during workouts make me feel less alone and usually put a smile on my face during my workouts.

Peloton Bike Plus Pros and Cons

Like any big investment, the Peloton Bike Plus has its ups and downs—especially when you’re trying to make it work in the chaos of mom life. In this part of my Peloton Bike Plus review, I’ll break down the pros and cons I’ve experienced firsthand so you can decide if it’s truly the right fit for your home, your schedule, and your sanity.

The pros that I’ve found are:

  • It’s so easy to use.
  • There’s such a variety of content (from bike to strength to bootcamp and more!).
  • The built-in motivation from the incredible instructors.
  • The rotating screen making it easy to take non-bike classes as well.
  • The auto-resistance feature allowing for hands-free resistance adjustments.

The cons that I’ve found are:

  • The Peloton Bike Plus is an investment and right now it costs $2,495.
  • You do need some additional accessories, such as cycling shoes. (I do really love my Peloton Altos shoes though!)
  • In order to access all the classes you need to purchase the All-Access Membership with costs $44 per month.

would I still buy the Peloton Bike Plus again?

Without hesitation—yes.

As a busy mom, the Peloton Bike Plus has become so much more than a piece of exercise equipment. It’s my time to breathe, reset, and reconnect with myself—even if it’s just for 20 minutes a day. The convenience, the quality of the workouts, and the motivation from the instructors have made it something I actually look forward to using. And let’s be real—finding something that makes you enjoy working out is pretty rare!

Is it an investment? Absolutely. But for me, it’s been one that continues to pay off in health, energy, confidence, and sanity. I can honestly say this Peloton Bike Plus review wouldn’t be complete without telling you it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health and well-being in motherhood.

So yes, I’d buy it again—and I wish I had done it sooner.

The Peloton Bike Plus is my mom-life lifesaver

Motherhood doesn’t leave much room for long workouts, quiet time, or even basic self-care some days. But the Peloton Bike Plus has given me a way to move my body, boost my mood, and feel like me again. Plus, I can do it all without leaving my house or rearranging my entire day.
